أفادت وسائل إعلام سنغالية أن مشجعاً سنغالياً يُدعى الشيخ ضيوف لقي حتفه متأثراً بطعنات متعددة تعرض لها خلال أحداث شغب اندلعت في أعقاب مباراة نهائي كأس الأمم الأفريقية 2025 بين منتخبي المغرب والسنغال. وأكدت صحيفة «سيني نيوز» السنغالية أن الضحية فارق الحياة في مستشفى بالعاصمة الرباط متأثراً بإصابات بالغة ناتجة عن طعنات سكين، فيما أعلنت السلطات المغربية فتح تحقيق قضائي عاجل لتحديد ملابسات الحادث وملاحقة المتورطين.

وشهدت المباراة التي حسمها المنتخب السنغالي باللقب أحداثاً مؤسفة في الدقائق الأخيرة، إذ احتسب حكم المباراة ركلة جزاء لصالح المنتخب المغربي في الدقيقة السابعة من الوقت بدل الضائع بالشوط الثاني، مما أثار غضباً شديداً لدى لاعبي السنغال وجهازهم الفني.

وانسحب لاعبو السنغال من أرض الملعب ودخلوا غرفة الملابس لمدة تجاوزت 20 دقيقة بناءً على طلب المدير الفني بابي ثياو، قبل أن يعودوا لاستكمال المباراة بعد تدخل مسؤولي الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم والسلطات المغربية، اندلعت بعدها اشتباكات بين مشجعي الفريقين خارج الملعب وعلى محيطه، وتحولت إلى أعمال شغب وعنف استخدمت فيها أسلحة بيضاء، أسفرت عن إصابات عدة ووفاة المشجع السنغالي الشيخ ضيوف.

وتُعد هذه الحادثة واحدة من أسوأ الأحداث العنيفة المرتبطة بمباريات كرة القدم في شمال أفريقيا في السنوات الأخيرة، وتأتي في سياق توترات سابقة بين مشجعي المنتخبين المغربي والسنغالي، خصوصاً بعد مواجهات قوية في النسخ السابقة من البطولة.

Senegalese media reported that a Senegalese fan named Sheikh Diouf died from multiple stab wounds he sustained during riots that broke out following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final match between Morocco and Senegal. The Senegalese newspaper "Sene News" confirmed that the victim passed away in a hospital in the capital, Rabat, due to severe injuries resulting from knife stabs, while Moroccan authorities announced the opening of an urgent judicial investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and pursue those involved.

The match, which was won by the Senegalese team, witnessed unfortunate events in the final minutes, as the referee awarded a penalty kick to the Moroccan team in the seventh minute of stoppage time in the second half, which provoked intense anger among the Senegalese players and their coaching staff.

Senegalese players withdrew from the field and entered the locker room for more than 20 minutes at the request of head coach Pape Thiaw, before returning to complete the match after intervention from officials of the African Football Confederation and Moroccan authorities. Subsequently, clashes erupted between fans of both teams outside and around the stadium, escalating into riots and violence involving white weapons, resulting in several injuries and the death of Senegalese fan Sheikh Diouf.

This incident is considered one of the worst violent events related to football matches in North Africa in recent years, occurring in the context of previous tensions between the fans of the Moroccan and Senegalese teams, especially following intense confrontations in previous editions of the tournament.
