رحلت ملكة جمال النمسا لعام 2024، لوسيا سيسيتش، عن عمر ناهز 22 عاماً، بعد سنوات طويلة من المعاناة الصحية التي رافقتها منذ ولادتها، وخضعت خلالها لسبع عمليات جراحية في القلب، كان من بينها تدخل جراحي وصفته بنفسها بأنه وضعها على «حافة الموت».

ولم يُكشف حتى الآن عن السبب المباشر والدقيق لوفاتها، فيما أفادت صحيفة «إندبندنت» بأنها عانت طوال حياتها من مرض خلقي في صمام القلب، وهي الحالة التي فرضت عليها رحلة علاجية شاقة منذ طفولتها.

وبحسب «يو إس إيه توداي»، وُلدت سيسيتش بعيب خلقي في صمام القلب، إلا أنها لم تتعامل مع مرضها باعتباره عائقاً أمام حياتها، بل اختارت الحديث عنه علناً مع متابعيها، في محاولة لمشاركة تجربتها ومنح الأمل والدعم لآخرين يواجهون ظروفاً صحية مشابهة.

تجربة اقتربت بها من الموت

على مدار حياتها، خضعت سيسيتش لسبع عمليات جراحية في القلب، وكانت إحدى أصعب محطاتها عندما كانت في الـ13 من عمرها.

وخلال تلك الجراحة، اضطر الأطباء إلى إنعاشها، وهي اللحظة التي تحدثت عنها لاحقاً باعتبارها تجربة اقتربت فيها من الموت، قبل أن تتمكن من تجاوزها ومواصلة حياتها رغم التحديات الصحية المتكررة.

وعلى الرغم من استمرار معاناتها خلال السنوات التالية، واصلت سيسيتش نشاطها في مجال عرض الأزياء، كما خاضت مسابقات الجمال، رافضة أن تختصر حياتها في مرض لازمها منذ ولادتها.

وفي شتاء 2025، خضعت لجراحة قلب جديدة، وشاركت متابعيها عبر «إنستغرام» فرحتها بتجاوز العملية، معربة عن أملها في أن تحمل السنوات القادمة قدراً أكبر من الراحة، بعيداً عن غرف العمليات والمستشفيات.

وكانت سيسيتش قد أوضحت في تصريحات سابقة عام 2024 أن حديثها عن مرضها لم يكن بحثاً عن التعاطف أو الشفقة، وإنما رغبة في منح الآخرين الشجاعة لمواجهة ظروفهم الصعبة، والتأكيد على أن المرض لا ينبغي أن يحرم الإنسان من السعي وراء أحلامه.

ملكة جمال النمسا حتى رحيلها

وتُوجت لوسيا سيسيتش بلقب ملكة جمال النمسا 2024، وظلت حاملة للقب حتى وفاتها، في ظل عدم تنظيم نسخة جديدة من المسابقة منذ تتويجها.

وقبل نحو ثلاثة أسابيع فقط من رحيلها، نشرت سيسيتش صوراً من إجازة قضتها في البوسنة والهرسك، البلد الذي ارتبطت به عائلياً، إذ تعود جذور والديها إلى منطقة «بوسانسكا بوسافينا».

وبوفاتها، تنتهي رحلة شابة واجهت المرض منذ طفولتها، لكنها اختارت في المقابل أن تعيش حياتها تحت الأضواء، وأن تحول تجربتها الصحية الصعبة إلى رسالة دعم وشجاعة للآخرين.

The Miss Austria 2024, Lucia Sisech, passed away at the age of 22 after many years of health struggles that accompanied her since birth, during which she underwent seven heart surgeries, one of which she described herself as putting her on the "edge of death."

So far, the direct and precise cause of her death has not been revealed, while the "Independent" newspaper reported that she suffered throughout her life from a congenital heart valve disease, a condition that imposed a challenging treatment journey on her since childhood.

According to "USA Today," Sisech was born with a congenital heart valve defect, but she did not view her illness as an obstacle to her life; instead, she chose to speak about it publicly with her followers, in an attempt to share her experience and provide hope and support to others facing similar health conditions.

An experience that brought her close to death

Throughout her life, Sisech underwent seven heart surgeries, and one of the most challenging moments was when she was 13 years old.

During that surgery, doctors had to resuscitate her, a moment she later described as an experience where she came close to death, before she managed to overcome it and continue her life despite recurring health challenges.

Despite her ongoing struggles in the following years, Sisech continued her activities in the modeling field and participated in beauty contests, refusing to let her life be defined by the illness that had accompanied her since birth.

In the winter of 2025, she underwent another heart surgery and shared her joy of overcoming the operation with her followers on "Instagram," expressing her hope that the coming years would bring her more comfort, away from operating rooms and hospitals.

Sisech had previously clarified in statements in 2024 that her discussions about her illness were not a search for sympathy or pity, but rather a desire to give others the courage to face their difficult circumstances and to emphasize that illness should not prevent a person from pursuing their dreams.

Miss Austria until her passing

Lucia Sisech was crowned Miss Austria 2024 and held the title until her death, as no new edition of the competition was organized since her crowning.

Just about three weeks before her passing, Sisech posted pictures from a vacation she spent in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country she was connected to family-wise, as her parents' roots trace back to the "Bosanska Posavina" region.

With her passing, the journey of a young woman who faced illness since childhood comes to an end, but she chose instead to live her life in the spotlight and to turn her challenging health experience into a message of support and courage for others.
