ارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا الفيضانات والانهيارات الأرضية التي ضربت مناطق حدودية بين النيبال وإقليم التبت الصيني إلى (160) قتيلاً، فيما لا يزال مئات الأشخاص في عداد المفقودين.

وقالت الشرطة النيبالية إنها انتشلت (157) جثة، بينما أفادت وسائل إعلام صينية رسمية بمقتل ثلاثة أشخاص وفقدان (265) آخرين جراء انهيار طيني في منطقة حدودية بالتبت.

ولا تزال فرق الإنقاذ تواصل عمليات البحث عن ناجين وسط الطين والركام، في حين حذرت السلطات من احتمال حدوث فيضانات جديدة بسبب انسداد مجرى أحد الأنهار.

وأشارت السلطات النيبالية إلى أن الكارثة تسببت أيضاً في فقدان مئات السياح، بينهم أجانب، وتضرر نحو (430) ميغاواط من قدرات إنتاج الكهرباء في البلاد.

The death toll from the floods and landslides that struck border areas between Nepal and the Chinese Tibet region has risen to (160) fatalities, while hundreds of people are still missing.

Nepalese police reported that they have recovered (157) bodies, while official Chinese media reported three deaths and (265) others missing due to a landslide in a border area of Tibet.

Rescue teams continue their search for survivors amid the mud and debris, while authorities have warned of the possibility of new floods due to the blockage of a river's course.

Nepalese authorities indicated that the disaster has also resulted in the loss of hundreds of tourists, including foreigners, and has affected around (430) megawatts of the country's electricity production capacity.
