عاد راصد الزلازل الهولندي فرانك هوغربيتس إلى إثارة الجدل مجددًا بعد نشر تحذير جديد تحدث فيه عن «أيام حاسمة» قد يشهدها العالم خلال الفترة المقبلة، مستندًا إلى ما يصفه بتقارب فلكي بين عدد من الكواكب والقمر داخل النظام الشمسي.

وكتب هوغربيتس على حساباته في مواقع التواصل أن النظام الشمسي يشهد اليوم مجموعة من الاقترانات؛ أبرزها تقارب الزهرة وعطارد والمشتري، مشيرًا إلى أن عطارد سيصطف مع الشمس والأرض قبيل اكتمال القمر. وأضاف أن «الأحداث الفلكية المتتابعة خلال الأيام القليلة المقبلة تستدعي الترقُّب»، مرفقًا منشوره بصورة توضّح مواقع الكواكب بالنسبة للشمس.

وتزامنت تحذيرات الباحث الهولندي مع تسجيل نشاط زلزالي في مناطق مختلفة حول العالم خلال الأيام الماضية، وهو ما دفع متابعيه إلى الربط بين هذه الهزات وبين توقعاته، رغم رفض المجتمع العلمي لهذه الفرضيات.

ويترأس هوغربيتس هيئة استبيان هندسة النظام الشمسي (SSGEOS)، وهي مؤسسة تركز على دراسة مواقع الأجرام السماوية وعلاقتها بالنشاط الزلزالي. وقد اكتسب شهرة واسعة بعد زلزال تركيا المدمر في فبراير 2023، حين قال إنه توقع وقوعه قبل ثلاثة أيام، ما جعله محط اهتمام إعلامي كبير.

ورغم ذلك، يؤكد علماء الجيولوجيا والفلك أن نظرياته لا تستند إلى أي أساس علمي، وأنه لا توجد علاقة مثبتة بين حركة الكواكب وحدوث الزلازل على الأرض، معتبرين أن ما يطرحه يدخل في نطاق «الاستحالة العلمية». ومع ذلك، يواصل هوغربيتس نشر توقعاته، متمسكًا بما يسميه «هندسة الكواكب» وتأثيرها على الكرة الأرضية.

The Dutch earthquake observer Frank Hoogerbeets has stirred controversy once again after publishing a new warning in which he spoke about "critical days" that the world may witness in the near future, based on what he describes as an astrological alignment between several planets and the moon within the solar system.

Hoogerbeets wrote on his social media accounts that the solar system is currently experiencing a series of conjunctions, most notably the alignment of Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter, noting that Mercury will align with the sun and Earth just before the full moon. He added that "the successive astronomical events over the next few days warrant vigilance," accompanying his post with an image showing the positions of the planets relative to the sun.

The Dutch researcher’s warnings coincided with recorded seismic activity in various regions around the world over the past few days, prompting his followers to link these tremors with his predictions, despite the scientific community's rejection of these hypotheses.

Hoogerbeets heads the Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS), an organization that focuses on studying the positions of celestial bodies and their relationship to seismic activity. He gained widespread fame after the devastating earthquake in Turkey in February 2023, when he claimed he had predicted it three days prior, making him a focal point of significant media attention.

Despite this, geologists and astronomers assert that his theories are not based on any scientific foundation and that there is no proven relationship between the movements of planets and the occurrence of earthquakes on Earth, considering what he proposes to fall within the realm of "scientific impossibility." Nevertheless, Hoogerbeets continues to publish his predictions, holding on to what he calls "planetary geometry" and its impact on the Earth.
