أعلنت مصلحة الموانئ والنقل البحري في ليبيا تلقيها بلاغاً عاجلاً يتعلق بالسلامة البحرية، يفيد بفقدان السيطرة على سفينة نقل بضائع تحمل اسم "MINI MV STARM"،خلال إبحارها قبالة السواحل الليبية مساء الأحد.

وأوضحت المصلحة في بيانها أن السفينة، التي ترفع علم دولة سانت كيتس ونيفيس المسجلة لدى المنظمة البحرية الدولية برقم IMO 8215613، شوهدت عند الساعة 16:16 بالتوقيت المحلي في بداية حالة الغرق، على بعد يُقدّر بنحو 50 ميلاً بحرياً شمال منطقة الجبل الأخضر شرقي ليبيا.

وبيّنت أن السفينة كانت في طريقها إلى ميناء صيدا اللبناني، محمّلة بشحنة من الآلات الثقيلة والرخام، قبل أن تتعرض للحادث الذي أنهى رحلتها في أعماق البحر.

وفي تطور مطمئن، أكدت مصلحة الموانئ أن جميع أفراد الطاقم البحري، وعددهم 11 شخصاً، تم إنقاذهم بالكامل، وجرى نقلهم إلى جزيرة مالطا على متن السفينة M/V GOLDEN BELJIN التي شاركت في عملية الإنقاذ.

وتتابع الجهات المختصة ملابسات الحادث، في وقت تتجددالتساؤلات حول عوامل السلامة البحرية وظروف الملاحة في هذا الجزء الحيوي من البحر المتوسط.

The Libyan Ports and Maritime Transport Authority announced that it received an urgent report concerning maritime safety, indicating a loss of control over a cargo ship named "MINI MV STARM" while it was sailing off the Libyan coast on Sunday evening.

The authority clarified in its statement that the ship, which flies the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis and is registered with the International Maritime Organization under IMO number 8215613, was seen at 16:16 local time at the beginning of the sinking incident, approximately 50 nautical miles north of the Green Mountain area in eastern Libya.

It indicated that the ship was en route to the Lebanese port of Sidon, loaded with heavy machinery and marble, before it encountered the incident that ended its journey in the depths of the sea.

In a reassuring development, the Ports Authority confirmed that all 11 crew members were fully rescued and transferred to the island of Malta aboard the M/V GOLDEN BELJIN, which participated in the rescue operation.

The relevant authorities are following up on the circumstances of the incident, while questions are renewed regarding maritime safety factors and navigation conditions in this vital part of the Mediterranean Sea.
